It Has Been a Minute (MAJOR UPDATE!)
Combining my passions for marketing, fashion, and community, I’m excited to officially introduce you to Muse + Matter Boutique!
Don’t Rush Into Burning Buildings
This month, I took a CPR and First Aid Training class, and the instructor said something that really stood out to me. Not just in terms of overall physical safety, but in life. He expressed that if when we find someone in a crisis situation that is unsafe in some way, we can often easily let adrenaline take over, and then we immediately move into this tunnel-vision-hero-complex where we just want to rush into whatever the situation is and save the day!
Just Show Up
Life is not always asking for a perfect show, the majority of the time it’s just asking you to show up. Not everyday is going to be your highlight reel day.
One Step at a Time: Here’s to Making Big Decisions and Starting Over
At the end of the 2022, I made a big decision. After 9 years of living and working in Phoenix, Arizona, I was going to make the official move back to my home state of New Mexico.
Pardon the Dust…
Yes, it looks a bit different around here. I am still under construction a bit so pardon the dust. More updates to come soon!
In the meantime, get ready to say hello to the next iteration of Discovering Daly.
This is Your Life
“Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Life is short, live your dream and wear your passion.”
Boundaries Are The New Black: How to Practice the Art of Saying “No”
Moral of the story: sometimes the show doesn't need to go on with a “yes, and.” And that's okay. So if you're the over-committer type, I’m here to tell ya it's okay for that show to end, bow out, and call it a day. That's all.
Happy 15 Years to the Disney Dreamers Academy
This past weekend marked the 15th year of the Disney Dreamers Academy inspiring a new generation of high school students across the United States to dream big and take action on pursuing their career goals.
You Are Not Behind
In the same night I had one person ask me if I had any kids, another person wish me luck on my first job out of college, and another person, after finding out I have a house with two cats, tell me that they hope I don’t become one of those cat ladies (oops, #toolate).
When Life Gives You Homegrown Lemons
One of my favorite memories during quarantine was when my neighbor would stop by my door to drop off something sweet she baked for me. Side note: she makes the most AMAZING banana bread and chocolate chip cookies. It was such a small gesture that showed me that during a time with so many unknowns, there was someone close by who was checking in on me.
Don’t Keep Dead Plants Around
My first little apartment taught me a lot of little life lessons: from my air conditioner breaking to accidentaly setting fire alarms off to decorating to keeping my plants alive
Happy 1 Year of Homeownership
They always say your twenties is when you feel invincible and that the world is endless with possibilities and yes that may be true, but sometimes it’s a time when you have never felt so small, so young, and so not ready for what the world has for you. You’re growing up with everyone watching and you have no clue what is happening. Then cue in homeownership.
Read This if You’re Single
This could apply to everyone, BUT this is a friendly reminder specifically for all the people who are NOT in relationships right now: YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR RELATIONSHIP STATUS.
Disney Dreamers Academy 2017: DDA 2017 Alumni Experience
As a returning alumnus (DDA Class of 2012!) this year, I had the privilege of serving as a mentor, team leader, and guest speaker. It was a momentous occasion for many reasons but also just a huge honor to be chosen to represent my dreamer class for this year's 10th anniversary. I was able to connect with a new generation of passionate high schoolers (we call them Dreamers) and share with them my insight and advice towards pursuing their dreams.
