It’s Barbie’s world and we’re all just living in it…

Along with the marketing that has amassed across brands from home paint to toothbrushes, so many women and girls (and of course, some of the guys) are living for this era of all things plastic, fantastic, and pink.

I just saw the movie this week, and I found it overall humorous, colorful, nostalgic, and fun. There were also some deeper themes woven into the storyline that I also found insightful and entertaining. It was a movie that leaves you with something to think about and talk about.

Plus, it was super fun to join in on the theme of dressing up for the showing! I attended a private-screening event with a local blogger and influencer group here in Albuquerque, New Mexico so it is safe to say I was definitely living in Barbie’s world for the night.

Shoutout to Target for coming through last minute on this perfect Barbie-pink dress for the occasion!

Before I wrap up this post, I have to give ode to the Barbie movies that came before this one that were a staple to so many childhoods including my own.

Starring Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan, the Disney Channel classic, “Life-Size” tells the story of a Barbie that comes to life and adjusts to life in the real world.

We also can’t forget the countless of animated Barbie movies that existed from Rapunzel to the Nutcracker. My little sister and I used to spend hours watching these!
